Whiz of the Web: Thirsty Thursday
A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- A recent xkcd features a pretty hilarious send-up of Google Maps. (Via Star)
- Paris Hilton is being sued for not promoting a comedy she starred in recently, Pledge This! We were only vaguely aware the movie existed, so maybe they have a point!
- If you fear not the spoilers, then click through for a look at the true face of Rorschach from Watchmen. And while we're talking Watchmen, check out some comparisons between original Watchmen art and the movie posters (via).
- Apparently due to some successful test screenings, MGM is moving the release date of the film Valkyrie yet again, this time back closer to its originally announced release date. Now it'll be coming out December 26, 2008.
- More on David Fincher's upcoming film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, about a man who is mysteriously born a septuagenarian and begins to age backwards. Apparently it's been transformed from a 20-minute read into a 3-hour movie that stars Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, and Elle Fanning. Check out the trailer here.
- To promote Scarlett Johansson's role in Vicky Christina Barcelona, there's a contest on her website right now promising a threesome with her as a prize. Sadly, the fine print reveals the "threesome" to be a movie date with Johansson and one other winner. Boo! (Via)
- Brett Ratner wants to produce a remake of the cheesy '80s horror movie Mother's Day.
- Pixar has teamed up with Boom! Studios to create comic books and graphic novels based on the Disney/Pixar and Muppet properties, and the first property being adapted is—no-brainer here—The Incredibles.
- Cinematical found a clip from The Richard Pryor Show in which Mr. Pryor plays the bartender at the Mos Eisley Cantina. Interestingly enough, it looks like they're using all the actual costumes and masks from the movie—either that or some really impressive replicas.
- We've got some metareviews for you today for Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Bionic Commando Rearmed (the PC version of which will apparently have additional PC-only challenge rooms via a free patch), and Madden NFL '09.
- Joystiq has a couple of fun videos from GameTrailers, including a list of the top ten most difficult games, and the opening cinematic for Mega Man 9
- DVD playback on the Wii is now possible! As is playing text adventure games on the iPhone.
- We'll admit it, we think True Dungeon looks really cool, even if it does sound suspiciously like LARPing.
- A creepy article about how the US military is trying to use brain science to build next generation weaponry.
- Check out the world's weirdest vending machines.
- Shiny Shiny found a fun iPhone app that decides whether you're fit to vote or not.
- Donkey Kong Jenga?! Apparently, yes.
- Capcom says they're at least thinking about bringing some of their big franchises to the Wii.
- When we posted about the new version of Clue the other day, we didn't realize they'd also added new rules.
- Over on Screen Rant you can find a ton of Babylon AD images and video, including an international trailer. (Via)
- Dude created a huge 3D video game-style maze for his hamster to crawl through, filmed the creature's adventure, and put it on YouTube. We're not sure whether to be horrified or impressed.
- Amazon and GameStop both seem to think that Wii Music will ship on November 3rd.
- Slashdot gives us something else to worry about: the information commonly used to reset passwords is dangerously easy to access.
