- Cinematical lists seven men gone too soon. It's been a rough year.
- The poorly named site Galactic Binder picks the top 31 bad-ass Star Wars moments. Some of these aren't exactly "bad-ass," but most of them are pretty cool moments. Still, how could they not have listed the most bad-ass moment in all of Star Wars, wherein Luke Skywalker deliberately throws himself into a bottomless chasm rather than join the Dark Side and Darth Vader? - A spoiler-tastic review of the script for the upcoming Voltron film has hit the web, and it's very positive.
- Robert Englund said in a recent interview that Billy Bob Thornton might get the role of Freddy in the next Elm Street movie.
- This is actually really impressive: Boba Fett does Flashdance!
- A behind-the-scenes glimpse of Neil Gaiman's Coraline.
- Joss Whedon dropped some brief and fascinating details about a Batman script that he pitched to Warner Bros. back when Batman Begins was in early development. His story might find new life as a comic in the future.
- Eidos says they'll be putting out a "haunting, action detective game" called Batman: Arkham Asylum for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC (nope, no Wii) in 2009. The game's story was written by Paul Dini, and centers on a trap set by Arkham Asylum inmates for Batman as he delivers Joker to the prison.
- Japan's Kosuke Kitajima, who won the gold for the men's 100m breaststroke, says he trained by playing Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.
- Joystiq found a Japanese TV commercial for a Metal Gear game for mobiles that recreates scenes from the game by replacing all the characters with thumbs. Pretty hilarious.
- Look out for bad chips from NVIDIA.
- Joystiq was on hand for a big Madden release party, and helpfully details what's new in this version.
- Blizzard's Bob Colayco explains why it took the company so long to develop Starcraft II.

- Sci Fi Wire lists seven reasons why they think Fringe will rule TV.
- Prepare yourselves, geeks! Universal Pictures has acquired the film rights to the Wheel of Time series of fantasy novels in a seven-figure deal.
- Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain have been hired to rework the script for Conan for Lionsgate. The two have also written a screenplay called Amazon about the famous women warriors, to which Scarlett Johansson is attached. That's hot.
- The Xbox 360's Fall Dashboard Update has supposedly leaked out all over YouTube.
- Check out shaky video of a fight scene from The Spirit. It seems terribly... silly, doesn't it? We're just not sure where Miller's going with this movie. (Via)
