Philly’s Phunniest – It’s On!

Deep in the heart of 20th and Sansom Streets, a murder of Philadelphia comedians have been taking part in Helium Comedy Club’s annual Philly’s Phunniest Person Competition. For the past three years, over 100 local comedians have taken to Helium’s stage with the hope that they will crush their fellow comics and be named Philly’s Phunniest!!!

And win $1,000.

The battle continues to rage this week, with preliminary rounds this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8PM. The semi-finals take place Friday with the final rounds on Saturday (see show times below).

Local comedy blog Comic Vs. Audience has been on (and in) the scene, posting the results and adding commentary. Meanwhile, this Phillyist personally knows a number of the comedians and semi-finalists and can assure any attendee that while it won’t be an easy competition, it’ll be a very entertaining one!

Preliminary Rounds: Tuesday (8/12), Wednesday (8/13), and Thursday (8/14) at 8PM
Semi Finals: Friday (8/15) at 7:30 and 10 PM
Finals: Saturday (8/16) at 8 and 10 PM
