We have few details at the moment, but a Phillyist staff member passing by Boathouse Row minutes ago saw police officers struggling with a suspect, apparently in the midst of an arrest, and stretchers nearby. UPDATE: Philly.com has the info for us. A man wanted on a drug warrant sent his speeding car careering off Kelly Drive, sailing nearly 30 feet from the embankment before plunging into the Schuylkill River. He escaped from the car before it sank and swam to the shore where he was cuffed by cops minutes later. One witness, a rower finishing his morning routine on the river, said, "It was just like a Charles Bronson movie." Woah, vintage reference. He continued, "There was a fellow with white hair out for his morning walk. It happened right in front of him. He just continued walking. He refused to be fazed by it." That's kind of awesome.
