Whiz of the Web: Thirsty Thursday
A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- It's funny because it's true. Present company excluded, of course. (Via Sarah)
- Speaking of internet truths, we're sure you already know that for every incredibly odd and unlikely pass-time you can imagine, there is a website for it. Case in point: Hats of Meat, which celebrates making and wearing hats made out of raw meat. Why does this happen? We can't even begin to imagine. But there's a website for it! (Via Jill)
- Hey, check it out, Michel Gondry's doing a comic book! (Via The Clog, via Sarah)
- Shane Black has written a spec script for Lethal Weapon 5 and supposedly Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are interested. The story is about Riggs, who has to tackle one more big case before retiring, and of course he has to pull Murtaugh out of retirement to help him.
- Bret Easton Ellis' The Informers has been adapted for the silver screen, and Cinematical has the NSFW red band trailer.
- Cinematical considers the original Inglorious Bastards, in the light of Tarantino's long-awaited remake, which will apparently star Eli Roth as Sgt. Donnie Donowitz, "a baseball bat swinging Nazi hunter." It may also star Brad Pitt, but will now definitely not star Leonardo DiCaprio. There's also a recurrence of the rumor that Britney Spears may appear in Tarantino's remake of Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. Apparently Spears' character would be a stripper who murders a man with her bare hands before taking his girlfriend hostage, and she would have a sex scene with another woman before the movie was over. Yes, a killer lesbian stripper. It's the role she was born to play!
- In other fascinating casting news, Natalie Portman will star in a 2010 remake of the horror classic Suspiria.
- A video clip from Transsiberian, a Hitchcockian thriller that's getting a lot of good buzz.
- Joystiq was lucky enough to get a tour of LucasArts, and took many pictures. Included is concept art from a top secret Indiana Jones game.
- Leonard Nimoy himself will be at the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas on August 10th to help publicize the unveiling of gameplay footage from the upcoming Star Trek Online MMO.
- That code for that comprehensive Wii Menu hack that we talked about yesterday is now available online for any Wii-owner to try.
- According to developer Traveller's Tales [sic], more LEGO games are on the way, based on Warner Bros. properties.
- The top 10 brilliant-but-canceled sci-fi/fantasy TV shows, as determined by SCI FI Wire's news editor and contributors. Nice picks! This Phillyist particularly mourns the loss of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Alien Nation, and Firefly.
- Interesting news about The Clone Wars: only Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, and Anthony Daniels will be reprising their roles. The rest of the cast is filled out by relative unknowns doing impersonations.
- If you've ever wanted to beat the living crap out of Kim Kardashian (and who hasn't?), you'll now be able to live out your fantasy by picking up the PS3 version of EA's upcoming boxing game FaceBreaker. A virtual representation of Kardashian will appear as one of the fighters in the game.
- Rockstar announced yesterday that GTA IV will be available for PC on November 18th.
- Warhammer Online just got a new, earlier release date: September 18th.

- The supposed track list for Konami's upcoming, rather-late-to-the-party rhythm game Rock Revolution.
- In honor of the upcoming release of stoner comedy Pineapple Express, Rotten Tomatoes picks 15 Memorable Movie Stoners. (Via Jill)
