PAWS Cat of the Week

picresized_Sophie.jpgDon't forget, PAWS is looking for volunteers who can foster kittens and mom-cats during this kitten season!

Kitten season has hit the PAWS shelter especially hard this year, and the shelter is completely full, with more animals coming in every day. The devastating upshot of this is that perfectly healthy, adoptable pets are being put down for no reason other than that there isn't enough space in the shelter for them. Remember, adopting a shelter pet is saving a life, so if you've been considering adopting a new pet, now is the time. If you've been considering buying a pet from a breeder or pet store (and without going into the litany of reasons no one should buy an animal from a pet store), please consider saving a shelter pet instead. And now, on to our Cat of the Week...

Sophie (ID# A04905597)

Sophie is a pretty, calm (and pretty calm) darling of a cat. She's 1-2 years old, is extremely affectionate, and loves attention. And with her pretty face and wonderful expression, you can't help but give it to her. She'll make a great friend for someone who wants their cat to be their companion.

If you'd like to save Sophie, e-mail natalie@phillypaws.org. The adoption fee for a PAWS cat is $40, which includes your new friend's first FVRCP vaccination and rabies vaccination, spaying/neutering, and microchipping. Also, make note of Sophie's ID number above and bring it with you when you go to the PAWS shelter, which is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave (map).
