Whiz of the Web: Tuesday Torpedoes
The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you.

- Epicurious has created a tasty menu based on ingredients found at Philly's own Reading Terminal Market. (Via Sarah)
- The first full trailer for The Spirit suggests that the film will be an incredibly surreal chronicle of the main character getting seduced by various hot women and then shot at by Samuel L. Jackson. Which... actually sounds like a pretty fun movie! (Via)
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will be the first digital 3D release for Sony Pictures Animation. We always loved that book, and it should be even better in 3D.
- Cinematical's review of The Dark Knight is promising indeed. Look for ours later this week. Meanwhile, you can also check out Cinematical's pics from the premiere.
- Cinematical is also picking out its most geekily anticipated things from San Diego Comic-Con.
- There's a rumor that the Wachowskis will reunite with Keanu Reeves for a film adaptation of Plastic Man.
- Some very cool gameplay footage from, and a new trailer for, Mirror's Edge.
- Transformers hottie Megan Fox said recently in an interview: "I would love to do a movie naked—it would be beautiful." We agree! Production should begin immediately. We guarantee the finished product will make hundreds of millions of dollars.
- Maybe you haven't heard, but there's a little thing called E3 going on. Everyone's saying it's not a big deal this time around, but most of the blogs we read couldn't shut up about it anyway. There's Engadget and Joystiq's coverage of Nintendo's keynote; a new Ghostbusters video; a gallery of E3 press conference photos; Wired's liveblog from the Microsoft press conference; Joystiq's bingo results from said press conference; the full list of Wii Fanboy's coverage from day one; Nintendo's unveiling of their MotionPlus attachment to the Wii Remote which provides for more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation, allowing for 1:1 movement (it's about time!); and the interesting news that Metallica's next album will be released for Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero: World Tour the same day it comes out in stores this fall.
- And while we're talking Guitar Hero, check out some amusing Guitar Hero-related T-shirts, and a video of a Guitar Hero-playing robot.
- The first episode of Joss Whedon's internet series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog got released today (supposedly; the website doesn't seem to be loading at the moment), and Whedon talked to Sci Fi Wire, Gawker (via), and Wired about it.
- "NBA Live 09 will feature 'Dynamic DNA,' a system that allows the game to change a player's stats and abilities based on nearly real-time information from real NBA games." Woah.
- The crazy impressive full official track list for Rock Band 2.
- This fall you'll be able to watch Netflix movies through your Xbox 360.
