Can't Miss This!

If you're in work and actually working, you're probably in the minority.

flag-07-03-2008.jpgISEPTA/RIPIT LAUNCH PARTY AT NATIONAL MECHANICS
Independents' Hall is a homegrown collective of tech-savvy brains dedicated to breaking up the monotony of their work-a-day lives with challenging and innovative feats of awesomeness. Tonight, they're partying at National Mechanics in Old City. The occasion? The simultaneous launch of iSepta and Ripit.

iSepta is an elegantly simple alternative to Septa.org that was originally cooked up for iPhone users but serves equally well in your Firefox sidebar or right in your browser's main window. Ripit is DVD ripping software made accessible on Macs, even to users lacking the nerd gene. Both came out of the fiery forges of IndyHall. Both shall be celebrated with appropriate intensity this evening.

WHERE: National Mechanics, 3rd Street between Market and Chestnut Streets (map)

SCREENINGS UNDER THE STARS PRESENTS THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
Go to Penn's Landing and watch this movie on a big screen, outside. There will apparently be activities before the movie, themed in relation to the film. We're not sure if that means they will be providing free lessons on how to be a bad ass, but it's worth checking out. And it's not too far from National Mechanics, either...

HOW MUCH: Free! Details here.

POPS ON INDEPENDENCE MALL
Peter Nero and Philly Pops will be rockin' Independence Mall tonight as part of the Sunoco: Welcome America. Show up early to witness the marriage of the actors who play Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross. Sounds like a great way to start the weekend. If you're not at National Mechanics...
