Jill, You can set "quiet hours" on SMS updates. For instance, I'm always checking via the web at work, so I set quiet hours from 9AM to 6PM. But I actually tend to keep SMS updates shut off much of the time, since I am always migrating between computers. You can always turn SMS on by just texting "on" to Twitter, and turn them off by texting "off". So, it's pretty easy to keep the tweets at bay when necessary.

I'm inclined to agree with my boyfriend, but as a Phillyist editor, I guess I just have to suck it up. Can I set my preferences so that I don't get messages (tweets?) at night or on weekends?
