PAWS Dog of the Week
If you missed our recent post on the breed-specific legislation bill pending in the Pennsylvania legislature, which would have an adverse effect on many of the dogs we've profiled on Phillyist, check it out here!
Digger (ID# A04736110)
Digger is a 1-year-old sweetheart of a Pit Bull. He's a medium-energy dog who needs a home where he'll get regular walks, but he's generally a calm boy. He came to the shelter as a stray, so it's not clear what level of obedience training Digger's had, but he certainly knows "Sit" and can likely be further trained. He gets along with submissive dogs and loves people. He'll follow you around, and he'll snuggle up on your lap if you give him the chance.
If you'd like to save Digger, e-mail natalie@phillypaws.org. The adoption fee for a PAWS dog is $40, plus an $8 city license fee if you live in Philadelphia. The fee includes spaying/neutering, which will be performed before your new companion comes home with you, and microchipping. Also, make note of Digger's ID number above, and bring it with you when you go to the PAWS shelter, which is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave (map).
