- Amazon.com has an exclusive preview of Beck's new album, Modern Guilt. The video is more of the lame experimental stuff Beck's been doing lately, but the music is pretty cool.
- PC Magazine picks the best websites for movie fans, and do a pretty good job of it; included are some of our favorites, like Rotten Tomatoes, Apple's movie trailer site, Cinematical, and IMDB. (Via)
- Disney has picked up a pitch called Happy Little Family about a family who somehow get turned into a popular set of dolls after a wish goes awry.
- The film Wanted, based on a comic by Mark Millar, is already getting positive early buzz, so other movies based on Millar's work are being kicked into high gear, including an adaptation of Kick-Ass. Keep in mind, however, that really only the first part of Wanted the film is based on Wanted the comic book; after that, filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov took off in a completely different direction.
- The Onion AV Club has put together an interesting list: 19 stellar cinematic one-scene wonders, highlighting really cool cameos. It comes complete with YouTube video clips! (Via)

- Wired has some interesting details on the newest Futurama movie, Beast with a Billion Backs, including the fact that it's a bit raunchier than previous Futurama content. The article also includes an exclusive video clip. The preview for the next Futurama movie, Bender's Game, reveals it's going to be one big long parody of D&D and Lord of the Rings. We can't wait.
- Beatles representatives have met with both the makers of Guitar Hero, and the makers of Rock Band, to discuss the possibility of a Beatles-themed game. Woo hoo!
- The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is reportedly planning to deregulate top level domain names to allow any string of letters to be used as a top level domain, paving the way for long proposed domains such as .xxx, or even .phillyist.
- Plug your user name for Twitter (or an RSS feed of your choosing) into LOL Feeds and it will make what you've written into a lolcat complete with images and LOLFontz (via). It might just be the perfect way to prepare for LOL Day (coming 8/8/08).
- Jon Favreau says Marvel's latest choice for the line-up of heroes for the upcoming Avengers movie includes Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, and Iron Man. Sounds good!
- Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, star of the now canceled New Amsterdam, has signed on for Virtuality, the two-hour sci-fi pilot from Battlestar Galactica executive producer Ronald D. Moore.
- The full track list for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith has at last been revealed. (Via)
- A new Tomb Raider game, entitled Tomb Raider: Underworld, is coming in November to PC and every console you can think of. The Underworld in question is apparently that of Norse mythology.
- The Movie Blog found a couple of really, really poor quality videos which supposedly record the filming of a fight scene for the upcoming Dragonball film.
- Yes, it's juvenile, and vandalism is wrong. But still... hee hee.
- What do World of Warcraft characters do for fun, after going around slaying dragons all day? Play the awesome office simulator, World of Workcraft!

I saw that at Target the other day and figured it would ruin The Onion for me, so I jut kept walking. But with your endorsement, I may have to reconsider!

I'm surprised someone didn't just steal the other four letters off that billboard for their dorm room wall.
