Whiz of the Web: Thirsty Thursday
A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- An amusing music video from Mindless Self Indulgence, directed by Jhonen Vasquez. (Via)
- A recent Wii update closed up a loophole that allowed hackers to run homebrew software through Twilight Princess, but apparently hackers have already broken the new code and opened up the loophole again. Good old hackers.
- Sienna Miller has confirmed that she will play Maid Marian in director Ridley Scott’s Nottingham.
- Rumor is that J.K. Rowling has written a brand new Potter story that will be turned into a ninth mini-movie starring the principal cast of the other films: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. Sounds cool, but we have a feeling this is going to turn out to be just a rumor.
- Philly horsemen on Google Maps!
- Apparently there's an epidemic of British teens pool crashing using Google Earth. They look through aerial photographs until they locate a house with a pool, then use social networking sites like Bebo and Facebook to coordinate an illicit pool party while the homeowners are away.
- Ooh, new trailer for Dark Knight! And it rules! Also, Sci Fi Wire tells us that Anthony Michael Hall plays a Gotham City newscaster in The Dark Knight, as well as in a series of Comcast OnDemand videos that are part of the movie's massive viral marketing campaign.
- In this slightly NSFW article, Underwire reveals a creepy new YouTube craze: porn videos made using Spore's recently released character design tool. They're called "Sporn."
- Download Squad tells us about Qtrax, a new advertising-supported service that lets you download music, legally and for free, from two of the four major labels (Universal and EMI) as well as several smaller labels.
- Hey, we could use a Blogger Relief Pack! (Via)
- A new photo acquired by Film School Rejects seems to show Thomas Jane in make-up and costume as comic book character Jonah Hex. (Via)
- An ABC fantasy pilot called Captain Cook's Extraordinary Atlas is being developed. It's described as Harry Potter meets Pan's Labyrinth, and centers on a young girl who finds a magical atlas that reveals a secret world underneath our own. Sounds pretty cool.
- Turns out that footage that ZootFly leaked to the internet of an in-progress Ghostbusters game helped developer Terminal Reality get the greenlight from publishers to actually create the title.
- It's looking like United Artists may have doctored a photo of potential Hitler assassin Claus von Stauffenberg so he would look more like Tom Cruise as part of their publicity for the film Valkyrie.
- There's a new trailer for Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona—and this one even has dialogue! Still looks sexy and good. (Via)
- A new photo from Amelia features Hilary Swank in full flight regalia, to Cinematical's delight.
- A horror movie about killer text messages called Text? Really?
- AFI's picks for the top 10 films in 10 popular genres can now be found online (via). Nothing particularly surprising or exciting here, but they're all pretty strong choices. And while we're talking about movie lists, Entertainment Weekly is counting down the top 100 movies of the past 25 years this week (via).
- DS Fanboy lists ten uses for that extra Nintendo DS that you might have lying around. (Via)
- We posted the news recently that the graphic novel Cowboys and Aliens is set to be adapted into a film. Well, turns out you can read the whole thing online if you want. (Via)
- Oops—looks like we passed along some false information yesterday. George Lucas is not directing Red Tails after all.

Hey! I love that book!

Heh. Sorry, Jill. I hate that book. Of course, I also hate Ulysses, so maybe I just have bad taste.

That's clearly the problem. (Admittedly, though, I've never read Ulysses.)
