Another AFI countdown, this time of the top ten American films from ten different film genres, including animation, courtroom drama, epic, fantasy, gangster, mystery, romantic comedy, science fiction, sports, and Western.
Modern Marvels (Fri, 8PM-9PM, History Channel)
This episode has the charming title "Corpse Tech," and it examines technology used by coroners and forensic anthropologists to save lives and catch murderers. Included is a visit to a "Body Farm" where decomposing corpses are studied.
Cerebral Sea Lion (Fri, 9:30PM-10PM, Animal Planet)
This special takes a look at a sea lion in California with the unusual ability to solve logical problems. Best of all, it's narrated by William Shatner!
100 Million BC (Sun, 9PM-11PM, Sci Fi Channel)
Another awesome Sci Fi Original picture—and this one even has a Philadelphia connection! Well, sort of. Soldiers go back in time to save a team lost during the Philadelphia Experiment and inadvertently unleash a carnivorous dinosaur in modern LA. Whoops!
Guy's Choice (Sun, 10PM-12AM, Spike)
It's the second annual awards show honoring stars and productions that men like! Hugh Hefner, Harrison Ford, and Matt Damon are among the honorees, and the show includes appearances by Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, Cameron Diaz, Snoop Dogg, and Disturbed.
Surviving History (Sun, 10PM-11PM, History Channel)
An exploration of the military tactics and technology of the past 2000 years. Included is everything from 17th century disciplinary measures in the British navy to missile-launching strategies.
