Nutter? I Don't Even Know 'er!

CityHall1.jpg

  • And the appointments keep on rolling in. This week's may have been the most interesting though, as Michael appointed himself(!), along with one of his aides, to the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority. The Authority will be headed up by another Michael aide who was appointed this week. The moves were yet another dig at the Street administration, as Michael is joining the Authority more or less to clean up the mess of Street's Neighborhood Transformation Initiative.
  • Michael got a big (and to us, somewhat surprising) victory in court this week, as a Philadelphia judge upheld three of the city's five recently-enacted gun laws. The case is now going to be appealed to the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, and will probably make its way to the state Supreme Court, regardless of how the Commonwealth Court rules.
  • Michael announced a city program to provide assistance to those facing foreclosure as a result of the ongoing subprime mortgage crisis.
  • With the Democratic nominee for President [finally!!!!] settled, Michael announced that he would actively campaign for Senator Obama despite supporting Hillary Clinton during the primary process. (Thankfully, Michael did not call for Obama to select Hillary as his running mate, stating that the running mate decision was "a very personal choice.")
  • Michael hung out with the cast and crew of one of Phillyist's favorite shows, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, during a shoot the other day. (Pictures available here.) We don't know if we're more jealous of the cast for hanging out with Michael, or Michael for hanging out with the cast.

I thought It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia filmed in LA.

If it's shot in LA, they go a long way to recreate Philadelphia. And to make it seem as if they shoot in Philadelphia—the Season Three DVD has a featurette about shooting in Philly.
