Blogged Around Philly

stuffed animal memorialWe bring you the buzz in the 215 blogs this week.

Attytood pondered beard styles and political correctness.

Dovate was excited to see loons in Philadelphia... a month ago. And commenters didn't let that time lapse go.

Blankbaby was concerned about the recent shortage of Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper in the Philly area, but has high hopes that supplies will be replenished soon. Lucky us—we've got that stuff in our vending machine at work.

The Malcolm X Park blog crew found a long-lost photo of Roots drummer ?uestlove blowing in the wind. And what's more, he appears to have confirmed that it is his photo.

Hugging Harold Reynolds examined the soapbox derby. Embarrassingly enough, this Phillyist always seems to get that confused with the pinewood derby, which is not nearly as exciting. Real kids do not smash into things in the pinewood version.

And, on a more serious note, Jeff Deeney posted an excellent, gritty article reminiscent of Steve Lopez's Third and Indiana over on Phawker.
