Whiz of the Web: Wednesday Whiz-Up
The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- Latino Review has a detailed run-down of what they say is the script for David Goyer's Supermax, that upcoming film about Green Arrow where he gets thrown into a prison for supervillains and has to make alliances with them in order to get out. We haven't even visited the page, for fear of spoilers, but we thought we'd pass the link along in case you don't care as much about things. (Via)
- Jake Gyllenhaal has landed the lead role in The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
- When The Movie Blog puts up a post with the headline "Eliza Dushku Group Sex," we sit up and take notice. Looks like the actress is in a movie about relationship therapy through group sex. Unfortunately, Macaulay Culkin is also involved. Urgh! Way to kill the buzz. Anyway, click through for the trailer.
- We've got news about Uwe Boll, news about Jack Thompson, and a video that connects Boll to Thompson! Let's start with Boll: turns out his latest film, Postal, will be screened in only four theaters nationwide. Click through for his response to critics who have been making fun of this sad fact. As for Thompson, yesterday a Florida Bar judge recommended that he be found guilty of 27 separate charges of misconduct. Bam! Finally, The Escapist imagines what would happen if Uwe Boll made a movie about Jack Thompson.
- We're pleased to report that Game|Life's review of Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 1: On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is a positive one. Now we have to scrape together $20 and get ourselves a copy.
- Game|Life gives us their first impressions of the much-anticipated MMO Age of Conan, which launched officially in North America yesterday.
- This is interesting, and amusing: YouTomb is a site that scans YouTube and shows you a list of recently removed videos, why they were removed, and who requested it (via). Speaking of which, video-sharing site Redlasso could be in trouble with a handful of major TV networks for allegedly creating a "business based on the unauthorized syndication of" others' content.
- Download Squad took a look at three of the most popular photo-sharing sites and put together a detailed analysis of each.
- That's hot.
- Go here to grab a free download of a track off of the Dandy Warhols' upcoming album.
- More details on the next Futurama movie! This time our favorite delivery crew will be pitted against "a repulsive, planet-sized creature with billions of probing tentacles" in "a disturbing—yet sensuous—interplanetary love story." Guest starring this time are David Cross, Brittany Murphy, Dan Castellaneta and physicist Stephen Hawking. The DVD will be released on June 24th.
- Summit Entertainment is going to do a reboot of the original Highlander, and Iron Man co-writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will be writing it! We're actually pretty excited about this news. Highlander had a great idea at its center, but the actual movies always suffered from bad execution. Here's hoping they can fix the execution this time.
- Speaking of reboots, looks like they're going to do a feature film reboot of Flash Gordon, too.
- Christian Bale has signed on to play John Connor in three Terminator sequels.
- A guide to the best DS homebrew peripherals. (Via)
- Greenpeace says the hardware components of many modern video game consoles contain toxic chemicals.
- Cinematical says they've found the coolest movie T-shirts ever over at Last Exit to Nowhere, and we're tempted to agree. Anyway, we'd certainly like a Nostromo T-shirt, and a Weyland-Yutani Corp. T-shirt.
- The first image from The Road is now available. (Via)
- A new $35 million feature adaptation of King Lear was announced at Cannes. Anthony Hopkins will play Lear, Keira Knightley will play Cordelia, and Gwyneth Paltrow will play Regan.

Christian Bale as John Connor? Why, Christian, why??? You've just lowered yourself to Nick Stahl status.
Hey, what's wrong with Christian Bale as John Connor? I'm really excited about that. Of course, I'm also one of those people who really enjoyed all three Terminator movies, and loves the TV show, so...
