Whiz of the Web: Monday Meat Slices
The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment.

- A pretty sweet Punisher: War Zone poster is now available for viewing online.
- There had been talk about a Cloverfield 2, but now J.J. Abrams is saying he'd rather take the team that did the original film and do a completely new project with them, rather than a sequel.
- As you might expect, the restricted trailer for The Happening is even more disturbing than the regular one. Eee. We are seriously freaked out now.
- The U.S. Army is testing a suit similar to Iron Man's that amplifies and strengthens the movements of its wearer. Right now they're just talking about using it for loading cargo or repairing heavy equipment, but they also think it could eventually be used in combat.
- The Movie Blog has a pic of what may or may not be an official Dark Knight poster featuring the Joker.
- Damn! We missed out on picking up a replica of the Airwolf helicopter off eBay. And all we needed was $60,000!
- Wired has a cool photo gallery of vintage Japanese toy robots. We want all of them!
- Obesity experts in the UK are upset with Nintendo's Wii Fit, and in fact believe it should carry a warning for parents, because the game uses the Body Mass Index to determine a player's relative obesity, and one of the possible ratings is "fat," a term which could be offensive and misleading. One expert pointed out that BMI is far from perfect and with children it simply shouldn't be used. Nintendo has apologized to those who might be offended, but doesn't plan to add a warning to the game.
- MP3-Check sounds like a pretty handy little app for those of us who own thousands of MP3s. It can take a survey of your collection and tell you which files are missing ID3 tags, don't meet your bit rate or sample rate requirements, are stereo or mono, or meet a specified volume threshold. (Via)
- Here's an interesting set of images: children's drawings recreated as photographs. (Via)
- Read some interesting predictions on the future of computer technology.
- Joystiq found a pretty amusing Xbox 360 case mod.
- The execution could be better, but the concept is definitely funny: Super Smash Bros. Rejects.
- Ted Nugent recently confirmed on a talk radio show that a motion-captured version of him will appear in Guitar Hero IV.
- Word is that MGM is going to remake Robocop and Red Dawn. We remember hearing about a plan to remake Robocop a ways back, and we remain not particularly surprised about it, but... Red Dawn? Really?!
- In case you somehow missed it, the new Indiana Jones movie is coming out this week. In honor of this fact, it's Indy Week on Cinematical. Included is coverage of the Cannes premiere and news conference, complete with photos. They're already talking about a fifth movie, with Shia LaBeouf's character taking over the lead and Ford returning in a supporting, Sean Connery-like role. Cinematical also offers us a fascinating photo gallery of foreign posters of the Indy movies.
- Tyrese Gibson is considering playing the title role in a film adaptation of Luke Cage. Dude, what's to consider? Do it, do it!
- Joe Dante's going to direct a horror flick called The Hole, which is "about two brothers who move into a new house to discover a mysterious hole in the basement that seems to have no bottom." Sounds cool!
- You may or may not know that comedian Eddie Izzard provides the voice for the computer-animated mouse Reepicheep in the just-released Prince Caspian. Nerd World imagines what the movie would have been like if Izzard had played the character as himself.
- The trailer seems to have been pulled offline, but as of this writing you can still watch a scene from the pilot for Joss Whedon's new series, The Dollhouse. (Via)
- A portrait of Homer and Spider-Pig made out of Mac desktop folder icons. It's almost horrifying. (Via)
- A video compilation of Mario deaths adapted from other video games. We know, that explanation doesn't really make sense; just watch the video.
- And now, cute animal pictures! (Via Sarah)
