Can't Miss This!

We want to go swimming.

filmfilmfilllm.jpgREELBLACK: SHOWCASING SHORT FILMS BY PEOPLE OF COLOR
Sometimes, International House needs only to go interstate to find talent and creativity. The Reelblack Showcase gathers together some of the best work by African-American filmmakers in the tri-state area. Reelblack brings black filmmakers together to share their distinct perspectives and style. Tonight's event is a two-hour display and will include a Q & A session with many of the filmmakers.

BRASSERIE DE LE SENNE DINNER W/YVAN
If you like Belgian beer, and you like eating, consider dropping the $55 it will take to listen to beer-meister and co-owner of Monk's Belgian Cafe Yvan de Baets discuss the finer points of several of the European country's proudest developments. This event will likely provide some great ammo for winning the "But honey, beer can be an art!" debate. It also wouldn't hurt for you to stop drinking those lame domestics straight from the vat. C'mon.

HOW MUCH: You gotta buy the beer, but the hangover is free!

BEER TASTING AT VICTORY BREWING COMPANY
It's been a while since we included two high-priced options for quenching your work-induced thirst. So, if you have an easier time spending $40 than $55 (it's only two $20 bills!) than go to the Victory tasting today at the Art Alliance. The brewery, celebrating its 12th year, is known for concocting high-alcohol beauties such as Hop Devil and Golden Monkey. The Art Alliance is known for, well, art. This tasting will include a selection of both year-round and seasonal varieties. Also, there will be extended hours for viewing some of the exhibits in the gallery. Remember, don't drink and critique. Always bring a designated know-it-all.
WHO: 21+
WHERE: The Philadelphia Art Alliance, 251 South 18th Street (map)
WHEN: 6:30pm
HOW MUCH: $40.
