Can't Miss This!

Sex doesn't have to be boring. In fact, it can be a ratings monster and can even turn into a movie you don't have to hide between your mattress and box spring. Yes, we know. Everyone knows, creepzilla.

cow lesbiansSEX AND THE CITY IN PHILADELPHIA
DENIM Public Relations and Me/Me2 magazine are bringing a theme to match the release of the movie. Tonight they're going to be at Bamboo Lounge. The campaign lasts all month long and apparently includes "cocktails, free give a ways, specials, prizes, photo shoots, manicures, shoes, dancing and so much more" at places all over the city. We're not sure what else there is to life, but it can't be very important. So get out there and pretend to be as cool as your favorite character. But not as wealthy. Or attractive.

We're kidding. If you're sexy and you know it, clap your hands.

The people in the surrounding cubes are all asking for a relocation now, thanks to us. Word.
WHO: 21+
WHERE: Bamboo Lounge, 101 North 20th Street (map)
WHEN: Go after work so you can get lubricated, socially, for when the sexy-time starts, around 8pm.
HOW MUCH: We're not exactly sure, but there are deals all night. Just figure out the dress code, which we didn't really research, but we'd guess is somewhere between "You're obviously not that stylish but you have a helpful gay friend" and "Bow to me, for I am Uber-Douche, king of planet Douchmatron 9!"

THRICE AT THE ELECTRIC FACTORY
If you don't know what we think of Thrice, go read about it here (live show) and here (studio work). Okay, now that you're caught up, you need to take advantage of the fact that, for some profoundly insane reason, this show isn't sold out yet. It's worth your time and with backup by Circa Survive and Pelican, this is the best bill in town this month.

WHO: Anyone can go, 21+ to drink
WHERE: The Electric Factory, on 7th Street, one block north of Callowhill Street (map)
WHEN: 8:30pm
HOW MUCH: $19. Get 'em here.

MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK AND PANIC AT THE DISCO AT PENN'S LANDING
An incredible show that promises the best atmosphere for any gig around if the weather holds, and the muddiest pop-punk mosh-pit you've ever heard of if it doesn't. Motion City Sountrack and Panic at the Disco descend upon Festival Pier to woo teenies and remind those of us who may be too cool for school that it's fun to reminisce and, although "pop-punk" may be a derogatory term these days, for many it was a stage we still hold near and dear. And maybe some of us haven't decided to completely turn our backs on it yet.

Oh, and we won't defend the ultra-pop-osity of Panic At the Disco, but Motion City Soundtrack is better described with some other stuffy, lame, totally irrelevant music-critic jargon like "dance rock." Or maybe "dance-mo." Like emo that makes you want to dance more. Get it?

Shut up. Stop making fun of us!

WHO: Anyone!
WHERE: The Penn's Landing Festival Pier, The Waterfront at Spruce Street and Columbus Boulevard (map)
WHEN: 7pm. Get there early though because this one is standing room only, buckaroo.
HOW MUCH: $30 in person, $40 online. Get 'em here if you're worried they'll sell out.
