Nerdgasm: Battlestar Galactica Party in Old City

426953492_20ffdfc661.jpgBattlestar Galactica is easily the best drama on TV!

You're cut, The Wire!

Get lost, Lost!

Err, ER!

If you can put the original campy Star-Wars knock-off (that we all loved back in the 70s) out of your head and give this Sci-Fi Channel reimagination a chance, you will be treated to some of the best writing, action, and drama this side of the Eye of Jupiter. (Plus some pretty hot "Human on Toaster" action. Um, you'll have to watch to know what I am talking about) Just pop in the mini-series on DVD and if the first five minutes doesn’t grab you, nothing will.

As you can see, we are devoted Battlestar nerds. So are Geekadelphia and The Hacktory; in fact only sites called Geekadelphia and The Hacktory could/would co-host Philly's first ever Battlestar Galactica Party.

On Saturday, Battlestar fans will brave the sunlight and converge on Independents Hall in Old City (not to be confused with Independence Hall, home of another famous nerd convention) to revel in all things BSG. Come see your fellow geeks play the Official Battlestar Galactica game, join them in the award winning fan-made game, Beyond the Red Line. (Bring your own laptops, fellow Viper pilots!) Plus you could win Season 1 or 2 on DVD; but really, what BSG fan doesn't have them already?

At 7:30, the gaming will conclude so the assemblage can watch the hosts' three favorite episodes while everyone munches on Cylon cookies (make ours a "Number 6") and a Battlestar-shaped cake (i.e. a Battlestar Galacticake). We are not frakkin' joking.

This is going to be a BSGeek paradise. For a few hours, you can share the awesomeness that is Battlestar Galactica before the series jumps away forever.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Did we get enough references in?
