Can't Miss This!

Yes, it's Cinco de Mayo. We've got one event related to the fiesta, but that doesn't mean you can't throw together your own party. Just get some tequila and the number you'll need to call out of work tomorrow morning.

thetowertheaterrr.jpgFLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS LANDS IN UPPER DARBY
That's right, folks. They're here. Flight of the Conchords has brought HBO a kickass series and now they're bringing their hilarious trunk full of awesome to the Tower Theater in Upper Darby. Spend that money you were saving to spend on your girlfriend. He who chooses love over laughter will love laughlessly. Unless your girlfriend is hilarious, in which case you should rock the plastic you should never have been approved for and buy two tickets! Beware: Admitting ignorance in the face of Conchords references results in the automatic deduction of 1,000 hipster points from your kewlness account.
WHO: Anyone!
WHERE: The Tower Theater, 9 South 69th Street (map)
WHEN: 8pm
HOW MUCH: $35. Get 'em here.

CINCO DE MAYO PARTY AT MANAYUNK BREWING COMPANY
There is nothing like an ethnic holiday to give rise to dance, drink and merriment on an otherwise dull Monday evening. Tonight, consider spending your holiday at the Manayunk Brewing Company. This party starts at 3pm, so consider coming down with the late-day sniffles. We imagine that there will some sort of Corona deal, but also enjoy live music by The Rockets, a WYSP Live Broadcast and assorted food and drink specials (aka $1 off all drinks, $5 Pizzas, $5 Quesadillas and $5 Wings).
WHO: 21+
WHERE: Manayunk Brewing Company, 4120 Main Street (map)
WHEN: From 3pm to 7pm
HOW MUCH: No cover, so word to your mother.

MOVIE MONDAY AT THE TROC PRESENTS: NACHO LIBRE
Cinco de Mayo is the perfect night to celebrate the masked wonder. This event is a Monday mainstay because there's still very few legitimate excuses not to get drunk and watch a movie with strangers. We can't reiterate this enough. But we can keep trying.
WHO: 21+
WHERE: Upstairs @ The Trocadero, 10th and Arch Streets (map)
WHEN: Doors at 6pm; Movie starts at 8pm
HOW MUCH: $3 to get in; but it goes toward a drink or a snack!
