Can't Miss This!

"No - no words. No words to describe it. Poetry! They should've sent a poet. So beautiful. So beautiful..." - Ellie Arroway, talking about the amazing spring day we have here in Philadelphia.

open micOPEN STAGE NIGHT AT COMEDY CABARET
You know the deal. Show up and pound a few so you can convince yourself that people want to see you try to sing or be funny or do that weird thing where you put your leg behind you head. Or is it your head behind your leg? Who cares. We mean, go for it!
WHO: 18+
WHERE: The Comedy Cabaret, 11580 E Roosevelt Boulevard (map)
WHEN: Just go after work so you can sign up early.
HOW MUCH: No cover. But it might cost you your dignity.

RECLAIMING CONSERVATISM WITH MICKEY EDWARDS
This guy, a former Republican Congressman, is lecturing at the National Constitution Center tonight. He's a conservative with an interesting agenda: he aims to examine how the conservative movement in the States has lost its way, and how they can reclaim their core ideas. In fact, it sounds like he's making some of the same observations that a lot of liberals are making about their colleagues on the other side of the aisle. He may be a more convincing voice on the matter though, having spent nearly 30 years as a Republican in Congress. Afterward, he'll be signing copies of his new book, Reclaiming Conservatism: How a Great American Political Movement Got Lost—And How It Can Find Its Way Back.
WHO: Anyone!
WHERE: The National Constitution Center, 5th and Arch Streets (map)
WHEN: 6:30pm
HOW MUCH: Admission is $12 for members, $15 for non-members, and $6 for K-12 students and teachers. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 215.409.6700.

FLYERS GAME AT PADDY WHACK'S
This is game 4. Sure, we blew a 3-point lead last time, but we still won. So come down to South Street and catch the playoff hockey. The Flyers are playing to win this series and you should support any Philly team that even looks like they're trying.
WHO: 21+
WHERE: Paddy Whack's Irish Sports Pub, 2nd and South Streets (map)
WHEN: Game starts at 7pm
HOW MUCH: Free. Good food and drink for good prices!
