HeartWorks, a major exhibition of contemporary art, will be on exhibit at the ICE BOX Project Space through Saturday, April 26th. A few select pieces have been chosen by the curator/artist, Christopher Veit, for a live auction on the 26th to be conducted by Alisdair Nichol, Freemans' Vice President for fine paintings and a frequent guest on PBS's Antiques Roadshow. The work may be viewed online, and bids are being accepted as well.
More than 90 established and emerging artists have donated over 100 pieces of work, and all of the proceeds will benefit Mazzoni Center. The works' appraised values range from hundreds of dollars for works by emerging talent to up to $20,000 for art by nationally and internationally known artists.
The reception on the 26th will feature hors d'oeuvres, complimentary open wine and beer bars and a martini lounge. Music will be provided by DJ Chad Brown from Los Angeles, and PRISM saxophone quartet.
