Can't Miss This!
We are going to work all day, keeping quietly to ourselves. We can't wait for the Flyers game tonight. You might have read all the reasons why, but most of all, we're just excited that they have rock and rolled this far, and we're willing to stick with them until the end.
PHILADELPHIA'S LARGEST SINGLES SPRING FLING AFTER WORK PARTY
Okay, so we went a little overboard on the image today. But when we thought spring and fling, mating bees were the first thing to pop into our mind. Because, you know, it's like, you go out there after work and, like, you have a Jager bomb or five and like, there are just no babes. So you feel stung. Or something. Anyway, we know our readers prefer a douche-free environment, but we can't promise this won't be a super-douche field day, and we offer no compensation in the event that you get stuck waiting in line for a drink behind a dude with a neck thicker than his head, a visible aura of Axe around his body and more pomade in his hair than you thought they sold in one container. All we can offer is the hope that you'll run into other Phillyist readers, who are of a more refined breed and can offer conversation, fashion sense and a knack for smiling at people and not just mirrors. So come out and take back the fling! Yellow jackets optional. PS: Open bar from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Presented by Meet Market Adventures.
WHO: 21+
WHERE: O.N.E. at Rittenhouse, 19th and Sansom Streets (map)
WHEN: 6:30pm
HOW MUCH: Tickets are $15. Get 'em here and get 'em quick, because there are only 50 or so spots left. Tickets are $20 at the door, but don't expect there to be any available by then!
We got to talk with her recently and we love Sara Bareilles. Tickets are sold out, but we love her so much that we're telling you to click through to the craigslist offerings and try to get your hands on a ticket or two. Dropping more than the face value on these will not be a waste of your money. Rachel Yamagata and David Ford will be there, as well.
WHO: Anyone! 21+ to booze it on up.
WHERE: The Fillmore at the TLA, 3rd and South Streets (map)
WHEN: Doors at 7pm, rock at 8pm
HOW MUCH: Technically, they're all full up. But go to craigslist and do yourself a favor by picking one up from one of the poor souls who can't go anymore.
FLYERS GAME AT PADDY WHACK'S
Okay, this isn't really an event. But this Phillyist is heading down there with some friends to catch the big game and get in shape for the weekend. You should come down and watch with us!
WHO: 21+
WHERE: Paddy Whack's Irish Pub, 2nd and South Streets (map)
