
- Yes, it's true, today is the pivotal Pennsylvania primary. A record voter turn-out is expected—which probably means there will also be a record number of problems. Clinton and Obama made their final push for votes yesterday. Obama didn't promise to win, but he did promise to keep things close. Meanwhile, the Clinton camp was talking comebacks. - Of course, a far more important vote already happened this past weekend: the vote to decide the best Philly cheesesteak. The winner, by a slim margin, was John's Roast Pork of South Philadelphia.
- Police are still seeking information in the murder of a cabbie in his taxi in North Philadelphia Sunday morning.
- Three "overnight cafes"—special all-night drop-in centers that offer food and help to the city's homeless when there's cold weather—were scheduled to close for the season yesterday morning, but the city agreed to keep them open to avoid a surge in the number of homeless people sleeping on the streets.
- A hearing on the Philadelphia School District's budget will be held tomorrow at 5PM at school district headquarters. To register to testify at the hearing, call 215-400-4500 by 4PM today.
- A man in his early 20s was shot twice in the head outside the Winning Edge Car Wash at 3770 Frankford Ave. yesterday at 3:32PM. He was taken to Temple University Medical Center in grave condition.
