No, it's not a new reality TV show. But the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention is going on all weekend, and it might just be more entertaining than watching Miami Ink or L.A. Ink.
With over 100 artists from across the country, the convention will be literally buzzing as convention-goers get masterpieces (and possibly some horrible mistakes) permanently etched into their flesh. The people-watching opportunities alone are worth the price of admission, even if you don't take advantage of the veritable mall of tattoo talent to get your own work done.
In addition to folks with amazing tattoos and those with amazingly awful ones—all on display for your viewing pleasure—the Philly Roller Girls and the Suicide Girls will be in attendance, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. The Enigma will also be there; take a photo with him to send home to mom and dad. Even if they hate your tattoos, they'll be glad you're not covered in blue puzzle pieces.
If the inking and ogling isn't enough for you, check out the live performances by Murphy's Law, The Anabolics, Slumlord, Cobra Clutch and others. Other live (non-musical) performances include a live painting exhibition by featured tattoo artists and a suspension show that gives new meaning to the term "hookers."
