Phillyist VIP: Jared Brey

Jared BreyThis week's Very Important Philadelphian is Jared Brey. Jared lives in South Philly and makes his living as a professional part-timer.

How long have you lived in Philadelphia and what brought you here?
I have lived in Philadelphia for three years. I came here to get rich, which was easy.

What is your favorite place in the city?
My favorite place in the city, currently, is my bedroom. Followed by McGlinchey's. Once the sweet new casinos are built, they will be my favorite place to spend some of the money that I have.

What is the strangest thing that has happened to you in Philadelphia?
The Mummer's Parade.

If you could change one thing about the City of Philadelphia, what would it be?
I'd take the chip off of everyone's shoulder.

Pick one: Rocky Balboa or Benjamin Franklin?
I'll say Ben Franklin, because not only are his witticisms incredibly hilarious and poignant (a penny saved IS a penny earned; think about it), but he also invented bifocals, the library, and the obesity epidemic.
