Can't Miss This!
We're all out of new ways to praise Friday. It's been a long week and we're just glad we survived.
THE ORIGINAL 23RD STREET ARMORY ANTIQUES SHOW
We sent the ladies over to the Armory last week, but this one is for everyone who likes a quality antique. This event will end at 6 but if you work in the vicinity of 23rd and Market, you should leave work early because you deserve it. The appealing door price is probably indicative of the fact that they want you to have as much money as possible to spend once you get inside (but at least we're suggesting you head over to Freeman's Fridays). Three centuries find representation at this show, in categories ranging from primitive portraiture to gameboards to quilts. Casual observers should certainly consider going, if for no other reason than to get some idea of the state of the industry. Just remember: You break it, you bought it.

But those aren't tonight and we all like instant gratification, so get out there and get your antique on! What? It makes more sense for you to just go tomorrow or Sunday? Really? Why don't you just leave the 'thinking' to us. All your blog are belong to us.
We know you need a drink and we know it's our duty to find you an enjoyable place to to just that. A place with live entertainment or some other reasonable excuse to show up. You know, besides the fact that you have to pour your stress out somewhere, and it might as well be into a shot glass. Well, you might as well listen to some reggae at North by Northwest.

MEET SENATOR ARLEN SPECTER!
Unless you're really into politics, you're going to consider the exclamation point a bit excessive, but we swear that it was there when we got here. In all seriousness, this is a man who has served his country for almost 30 years and has battled cancer. Regardless of your party affiliation, you have to be impressed with the guy's tenacity. He'll be at the Penn Bookstore to discuss and sign copies of his new book, Never Give In.
