The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- Photographs of real places with video game characters added. We like! (Via)
- Wired takes a closer look at the world's most powerful laser, recently built and turned on at the University of Texas at Austin. It's 2,000 times more powerful than all the power plants in the United States and the builders hope to use it to recreate astronomical phenomena like supernovae in miniature. (Via Jill)
- Disney/Pixar has/have announced its/their upcoming slate, and Cinematical has all the details.
- A handy line graph based on crime data released by the US Department of Justice seems to show that real world violence has decreased during a time period when many violent video games were released and became extremely popular (1995-2004).

- Warren Ellis is treating us to the weird news links again. First: "A man who received a heart transplant 12 years ago and later married the donor’s widow died the same way the donor did, authorities said: of a self-inflicted gunshot wound." Woah. Second, leave it to Ellis to pass along a story that makes us want to scream inside our head: self-propelled robot ass probes (via)!
- Jane Austen’s novel Emma is going to be transformed into a Hip Hop musical.
- The guys who made Feast via Project Greenlight are teaming with Dimension to make a new film called Midnight Man about an ex-con trying to steal some jewelry from a mansion only to find that it's been boobytrapped by a psycho killer who has also taken the ex-con’s family hostage. Apparently it starts out as a thriller and then turns into a horror movie. Sounds vaguely interesting...
- GetYourselfFired.com is designed to do just what it says, by providing incriminating photographs that you can upload your face into. So yes, it is now true, there is a website for everything. (Via)
- A couple of our favorite sites got nominated for Webbies: Angry Alien (of 30-second bunnies fame) and Game|Life. Good luck, guys!
- A script for a video game comedy by the co-writer of Fanboys just got picked up by Lakeshore Entertainment. It's called Thundercade and it's about a video game junkie facing a midlife crisis who learns that a young punk has broken a record he set as a teen. "He and two lifelong friends embark on a quest to reclaim his place in video game history and win the world's ultimate gaming championship, Thundercade."
- You can probably guess from the title that the trailer for Tokyo Gore Police is not exactly safe for work, but it's also hilarious if you're the right kind of person. (Via)
- The latest news on Punisher: War Zone is that the release date has been pushed back to December 5th because the folks in charge think it'll make more money coming out then. Also, supposedly the first screening for the studio went well.
- The next project from Errol Morris (of The Fog of War fame), called The End of Everything, will be based on a true story and feature "comedic elements." It'll cover a range of subjects including a wingless bird, author Margaret Mitchell, a volcano, and Laura Bush. Okay then...
- Ray Park, who's playing Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe movie, recently gave out some details about his role and about the film in general.
- Yahoo! Mail's unlimited mailbox size has a limit after all: put more than about 55,000 messages in the same folder, and your account will be rendered inoperable. Yahoo! is working on fixing the issue.
- For Xbox 360 owners, the E74 error could become the new Red Ring of Death!
