Yo, Philly in the News

cheesesteak

  • This article actually discusses why the two Democratic candidates for president have not yet visited a cheesesteak shop while in Philadelphia, while this article discusses why they haven't talked about urban housing issues.
  • At Fourth and Arch Streets at 3:45PM yesterday, a car ran a red light, collided with another vehicle, then went up onto the sidewalk and injured three pedestrians, one of them critically. The drivers had only minor injuries.
  • The four teens charged with murder in the random attack on Sean Patrick Conroy in a Center City subway concourse were jailed without bail yesterday, although the lawyer for the youth arrested on the day of the crime claims his client did not take part in the beating, but only stood by in shock. Meanwhile, there was another random attack by teens at a SEPTA councourse Wednesday night. This time it was on the walkway between the Gallery and a SEPTA platform at 8th and Market streets, and a dozen teens (six girls and six boys) were involved. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, lost a tooth, suffered partial loss of vision following the attack, and has painful bumps and cuts on her head. But she was able to ask for help and positively identify five suspects who were captured by SEPTA police officers on the subway car at Fairmount Avenue.
  • This month's newsletter from University Village, the private apartment complex for Temple Students at 10th and Montgomery Streets, included an anti-semitic April Fool's poem on the back page. Supposedly it was the work of a "rogue employee" whom the company is trying to identify.

WOW! Cars able to drive themselves! Where Can i get one?

This is part of problem with our car-centric culture, and our culture in general. It's not the fault of the ignorant moron who can't drive, it's the car's fault.

The correct way to write the article is:

"Three pedestrians were injured, one critically, after some stupid bitch drove a car into another vehicle, traveled onto a sidewalk, and hit the pedestrians yesterday afternoon in Old City.

The accident occurred at Fourth and Arch Streets at 3:45 p.m., when one of the idiots driving the vehicles - it was unclear which, and it doesn't really matter, who the fuck needs to drive in the city anyway? - ran a red light, police said..."
