Updated. See below.
Starting this week, Good Day Philadelphia on FOX 29 will be airing a regular segment called "Firehouse Fridays" in which Jennaphr Frederick will visit fire companies around the Delaware Valley to get to know some of Philadelphia’s bravest. Tune in this week to see Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers discuss the city’s new fire-prevention program and give viewers some tips on how they can prevent fires in and around their homes.
As we all know, firefighters received much well-deserved positive attention in the time immediately following the events of September 11, 2001, but in the years since, that attention has dwindled somewhat. It's fantastic to see this regular feature introduced that will once again bring some recognition to the profession.
You can even nominate your local fire company to be featured in an upcoming segment by visiting www.myfoxphilly.com. [Note: we tried unsuccessfully to find the exact link but suspect it will be up after the first installment airs.] The link has since gone live! Here it is.
Good Day Philadelphia airs weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
