Can't Miss This!
Two more days, two more days, two more days. As repetitive hopeful phrases go it may not be "There's no place like home...," but it gives us the same sense that life is, in fact, worth living. At least for two more days.
SHECKY'S GIRLS NIGHT OUT
This one is for the ladies. And the men who wear ladies' clothing sometimes. One Phillyist bore witness as droves of Center City females descended upon the Armory at 23rd Street yesterday at 5pm. Shecky's is presenting what their web site calls a night of "shopping, cocktails, refreshments, beauty, fashion, freebies [and] fun." Basically, they are providing everything your boyfriend can't, hence negating the need for his existence. The discounts are as beautiful as the fashions and the cocktails are free. Yes, I said it. Pay admission, get free cocktails. And a massive shopping environment, complete with uber-high ceiling, minimum male population, and even a legitimate networking atmosphere. So tell him you're busy tonight and when he asks why, say you're going to happy hour with your first true love. Just don't tell him you mean shopping right away. Let him squirm a little.
