Can't Miss This!

It's a little warmer today, which is good, because we're expecting the weather to get its spring on pretty soon. The clouds, though, remind us that Wednesday is not always as close to Friday as we want it to be. We don't know about you, but as far as work is concerned, March 2008 is really turning out to be one of those months we'll never, ever miss. Five more days until those April showers. Five more days.

Millions of peachesTHE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
The Troc comes at us with gusto this week. Tonight, it's the most excellent Presidents of the United States of America. Yes, we all know their sweet-ass 90s hits. What you may not have known, though, is that they are still alive. And not only that, but you can still try to get a ticket to your musical past. There is nothing more wholesome and comfortable to those in their early-to-mid twenties than the early-to-mid 1990s. Didn't you hear—it's the new 80s!

VOLCANIC SAFARI: INDONESIA
There's something rather uninviting about a 'volcanic safari.' "What?" you ask? Well, it's probably the liquid fire that sounds so off-putting. But don't let our city-slicker attitude keep you from this event. Producer Grant Foster is screening his film and discussing the cultures that have developed in the most active volcanic area on earth. Neither volcanoes, earthquakes nor tsunamis can keep these people down. There's apparently some great eruption footage, too. Click through to the Geographical Society to see two little girls rocking the kind of nervous expression you might have on your face, too, if you lived at the foot of a fiery fountain of magma. Presented by the Geographical Society of Philadelphia.
WHO: Anyone!

IMPROV PHILLY STYLE
We've neglected your free-dom in the past few days, and for that we are truly sorry. How about we all have a good chortle about it tonight at the Free Library. Tonight's bill, presented by Rick Horner of Philly Improv Festival, includes ZombieShark, MakeOut Clinic and Drexel Football Team. They make it up as they go, and you laugh your ass off.
