
- Police are asking for the public's help in locating the mother of a baby who was found swaddled in a blue and gray blanket and stuffed in a black garbage bag amid shrubs and branches in the front yard of a home on 58th Street near Chestnut yesterday afternoon. The baby, who had been born yesterday morning and whose umbilical cord was still attached, is healthy, and police say they are not looking to arrest the mother: they are just concerned for her well-being. - Daily News sources say that at a new conference this morning at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, state Senator Vincent Fumo will announce his decision to give up his re-election bid and retire from the Legislature at the end of the year.
- Speaking at a wind-energy company in Bucks County yesterday, Barack Obama said he intends to fight as hard as he can to win the Pennsylvania primary, despite the fact that the odds favor his opponent. Speaking of which, Hillary Clinton had a couple of successful appearances in the Philadelphia area yesterday, including a rally at Temple University that brought in nearly 4,000 supporters. She criticized Obama at her earlier appearance in Harrisburg, but at the Temple rally, she focused on President Bush.
- "A Common Pleas jury yesterday convicted a 28-year-old Germantown man of first-degree murder and related offenses in the brutal 2004 knifepoint slaying of his girlfriend Asia Adams - a promising 21-year-old West Chester University student."

It does seem that way. But take heart! I'm sure there will be plenty of odd and disturbing commercials coming our way soon from the Obama and Clinton camps.
