For those of you who missed it, Monday was National Women's and Girls' HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Don't worry, it isn't too late to celebrate. Rather than baking the traditional red ribbon sugar cookies you make every year, here are some new ideas:
One) Get some female condoms: They’re thinner and looser than you’re everyday latex male prophylactic, not to mention latex-free for those of you with sensitive skin. (Remember, no need to use both types of condoms together.)
Two) Rent RENT: And invite five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred of your closest friends over to watch it with you.
Three) For the cosmetically inclined: treat yourself to some MAC make up.
Four) Learn about Microbicides: Imagine a KY Jelly that could prevent HIV. This is a leading research initiative for AIDS prevention, with the specific intention of empowering women to protect themselves.
Five) Get an HIV Test: Find a free testing site near you by zip code.
Six) Check out this post.
