It'll probably be pouring tonight, but so what? The temperatures are on the rise, Daylight Savings Time starts again on Sunday, and it's time to get this Spring started! Where better than at First Friday? Here are our top three picks.
Khmer Art Gallery & Museum, home of a millennium's worth of Cambodian art, welcomes an exhibition of the work of local photographer Angie Campano. The two-month exhibition, opening tonight, features photographs she took while traveling through Cambodia. Campano will be on hand at tonight's First Friday reception to discuss her work, and Cambodian music will be played. Come for the food and wine, stay for the cultural education. Khmer Art Gallery & Museum is located at 319 North Eleventh Street, at Wood Street.
F.U.E.L. Collection, perhaps still better known as The Real World – Philadelphia house, will be presenting Scion | Installation 4, "It's a Beautiful World," featuring the work of over thirty artists in the media of sculpture, painting, collage, and photography, through March 21. F.U.E.L knows how to throw a good party, and tonight's will feature food and wine from Fleur de Lys Catering and DJ Junior spinning some mood music. Artists Ron English and Cody Hudson will also be on hand to chat – about their work or otherwise. F.U.E.L. Collection is located at 249 Arch Street, at Third Street.
The Clay Studio, one of our favorite Old City Galleries if only for its awesome mosaicked walls, features the work of three artists tonight at their First Friday event: David Garratt: Who Says Words With My Mouth?, a collection of eerily lifelike sculpted heads; The Bird: Homage to Brancusi; and New Work by Kurt Anderson. There's usually beer on hand at The Clay Studio, and even if you can't afford the featured art there, there's usually a good selection of more affordable work toward the back. The Clay Studio is located at 139 North Second Street, just south of Race Street.

Now What?
