F is for freedom. R is for relaxing. I is for imbibing. D is for designated driver. A is for after-party. Y is for, um, yodeling? Oh whatever, it's Friday people, so look alive and act like it!
Get the blood pumping by singing along, to the tune of "This Is How We Do It":

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM AT...THE MUSEUM!
The Mütter Museum is full of weird stuff: medical oddities and rarities that you would never want to see reanimated. Which is why we find it strange that they're presenting a showing of Night At the Museum, Ben Stiller's take on what it's like to work at a museum that comes to life after the doors close. It's probably going to be an interesting evening, too, since the film is going to be followed by a celebration of the 197th birthday of the museum's founder, Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter. Medical weirdness, Ben Stiller, birthday cake... something is awry, and you should find out what it is. Just be sure to protect your eyes while you're there.
WHO: Anyone who won't puke when they see freakological medical specimens. Freakological is our word, but you can borrow it.
WHERE: The Mütter Museum, 19 South 22nd Street (map)
WHEN: 7pm
HOW MUCH: Museum admission is $12, after that, the movie and the cake are free. Please register online using this oddly complicated form. It's not as scary as it looks.
Meg and Rob is comprised of, well, Meg and Rob. They're bringing their new sketch comedy show, These Modern Worlds, to the Shubin tonight and apparently it touches on some very important topics: sex, venison, and dystopianism. If you haven't seen it yet, check out our interview with the duo, posted yesterday. Also, the show is part of a benefit being put on all week by the Philly Improv Theater for Project H.O.M.E.. So go, laugh, and feel good about yourself for doing a little bit to help end homelessness.
WHO: Anyone!
WHERE: Shubin Theater, 4th and Bainbridge Streets (map)
WHEN: 8pm
HOW MUCH: $10. Get 'em here, or at the door 30 minutes prior to showtime. Tickets reserved online are held at the door until 5 minutes prior to showtime, then, they explode! No, they don't. But they are given to people in the stand-by line and your late ass misses out on some serious comedy.
FIRST FRIDAY RECEPTION AT THE WEXLER GALLERY
We love First Friday. Art, wine, friendly artsy wine-drinking strangers. So don't miss out! We're showcasing the Wexler Gallery, but be sure to wander the streets of Old City because it's not the only gallery throwing agape its entrance and welcoming swaths of meandering citizenry who thirst for relief from the grinding urban circus of their stolid daily lives. Anyway, the Wexler features glasswork, jewelry, and incredible pieces of furniture-as-art. But don't get too comfortable, in fact, don't even touch it - it's probably worth more than your car. Works by Australian glass artists Tim Edwards and mixed media fiber artists Donna Rosenthal and Wendy Wahl will be featured.
WHO: Anyone!
WHERE: The Wexler Gallery, 201 North 3rd Street (map)
WHEN: From 5pm to 8pm-ish.
HOW MUCH: Nada. That means nothing.
