The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- The sad news has spread quickly across the internet that co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons Gary Gygax has died.
- A local blogger and former Phillyist read that article we posted yesterday about the decade's most misogynistic films and got so pissed he decided to analyze and deconstruct the entire thing in an impressive rant. Thanks, yagathai! Now we feel good about liking Ocean's 13 again.
- Transformers 2 might be filming in Philadelphia. Also, The Movie Blog is challenging the idea that Philly is "the most cooperative and film friendly city in the business," and offers Toronto as the more likely candidate. We are tempted to respond with a good old-fashioned Philly "screw you!" But we've never tried to film a movie in Philadelphia or Toronto, so we can't really offer an opinion.
- Nerd World has dug up some more details on Joss Whedon's upcoming TV show, Dollhouse.
- Yay! New Coen brothers on September 12th! That's the release date for their dark espionage comedy Burn After Reading.
- Looks like an IE8 public beta download might be available later on today.
- The Japanese have made a new remote control that allows you to control your iPod with your eyes. You just wear some special glasses/headphones with sensors on them, wink with one eye to go back a track, wink with the other to go forward, and close both eyes to play or pause. Apparently it's smart enough to ignore normal blinking. But now not only will other people have to guess whether you're talking to yourself or talking on your mobile phone, they'll also have to guess whether you're winking at them or at your iPod. (Via)
- Take a look at ten reasons why the PS3 is relevant again (via). We think they forgot to include the fact that PS3s can apparently be used to simulate the collision of two black holes.
- Wired has an interesting little slideshow featuring artistic representations of data. (Via Jill)
- ArtBots is an international exhibition for robotic art and art-making robots, and they're currently looking for submissions for this year's show, to be held in Dublin in September. We heard about it because Warren Ellis is going to be one of the curators. Cool! In vaguely similar news, Capcom and UDON Entertainment are putting together a showcase of Street Fighter art to celebrate the game’s 20th Anniversary, and they're asking for submissions.

- We had no idea that the whole "fail" genre of manipulated images has a subgenre of "fail dogs," and that there are multiple blogs examining this phenomena. Thankfully, Geekadelphia filled us in. Enjoy Fail Dogs, courtesy them.
- Rose Byrne has joined Nicolas Cage on the cast of upcoming sci-fi thriller Knowing. This is the one about the woman who buries a time capsule predicting various horrific events, including the apocalypse. Inevitably, the capsule is dug up and the events start coming true. Cage plays a professor trying to figure out what's going on, and Byrne plays the daughter of the predicting woman. Sounds interesting, but at this point we're pretty wary of any movie Cage is in, especially sci-fi thrillers...
- A new comic-book series called Star Trek Year Four: The Enterprise Experiment is going to pick up where the original TV series left off and reveal the previously untold stories behind the fourth year of the Enterprise's mission. The book will be co-written by D.C. Fontana, who wrote some of Star Trek's most celebrated episodes. Cool idea, but isn't this what Star Trek: Phase II (previously known as Star Trek: New Voyages) has already been doing?
- Remember the story of that guy who sent in his unique, signed Xbox 360 to be fixed and Microsoft wiped it clean? Well, Bungie's going to make it right.
- Joystiq dug up an interesting article from the Philadelphia Inquirer that we missed about the kid who thwarted a Columbine-style attack and who's now admitting to stealing an Xbox 360 and other items.
- Love Rock Band, but hate that the drum set is so huge and loud? Then thank your friendly neighborhood hacker, who has cooked up a much smaller and quieter version of the set.
- The best-reviewed video game publishers of 2007, in handy chart form. (Via)
- Some fresh news and images are available from the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, including our first look at Sabretooth, and an apparently rather boring spy video.
- Uwe Boll has announced that his new movie, Postal, will be coming out the same weekend as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (May 23), and he apparently thinks his movie can actually beat Indy at the box office. Ha! Keep on dreaming, Uwe.
- Word is that Speed Racer might be showing up on IMAX screens.
- Spoiler TV has a bunch of cool new stills from Prince Caspian. But, like the name says, some could be considered spoilers, so walk carefully in the chamber of tomorrows (50 extra points for whoever gets that reference). (Via)

In regards to the Nicholas Cage movie, from that brief summary all they need to do is throw in a demon and an angel who like being on earth and you have a movie of "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman.
R.I.P. Gary Gygax. Even lolcats will miss him.
