Whiz of the Web: Wednesday Whiz-Up
The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- We don't normally like Sarah Silverman, or Jimmy Kimmel, but we have to admit, her music video about Matt Damon, and Jimmy Kimmel's response, are pretty funny. A far filthier parody can be found here, just make sure to keep the headphones on. (Via Jill)
- Ladies and gentlemen, we present the new pinnacle of food: the meat bundt. (Via Sarah)
- Wow. We so want this desk (via Jason). For a vaguely related link, check out Star Wars explained by a 3-year-old.
- Selma Blair is in final negotiations to play a lesbian high school teacher romantically involved with a student in the indie black comedy Driving Lessons. Um... hot.
- The Monty Python Cow Catapult. Brilliant! (Via)
- Tapes 'n Tapes rock. They've got a new album coming out on April 8, and they'll be in town shortly thereafter. XPN is getting us pumped with a couple of free Tapes 'n Tapes MP3 downloads - one a song off the new album, the other a classic off of The Loon. Enjoy!
- Now that the writers' strike is over, Warner Bros. is getting back to work on Justice League. They've got the cast training for their roles, the writers polishing the script, and they're planning for a 2009 release.
- Step Up 3D?! Are you effing with us?! Please tell us it's just a terrible, terrible joke! Another thing we wish were a joke is the news that The Rock is going to be in a movie called The Tooth Fairy, directed by the guy who did The Santa Clause, about an ordinary man who's brought in to try to save the tooth fairy kingdom. Seriously? What happened to you, Rock? What happened?
- The Oscar-nominated animated short 9 (which you can watch in its entirety on YouTube here) is being expanded by the original director into a feature-length film with Crispin Glover, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau and Elijah Wood providing voices.
- The production company that owns the rights to George Romero's Dawn of the Dead is suing Capcom for infringing on its property with the zombie video game Dead Rising - which is, admittedly, really, really similar to the movie.
- Game|Life has a great big long article about Street Fighter IV, complete with screenshots.
- Joystiq has dug up some more intriguing and exciting details about the LEGO MMO.
- Dr. Pepper is now the official beverage of the 2008 Major League Gaming Pro Circuit. So apparently really hardcore gamers should drop that Mountain Dew and pick up a Doctor!
- A WiiWare version of the flash game Defend Your Castle should be heading to consoles in "early 2008" (so... now?) for 500 Wii points.
- Apple's iTunes Store now sells more music than any other retailer in the US except for Wal-Mart. We're simultaneously excited that the iTunes Store is doing so well, and horrified that Wal-Mart is still doing better.
- So, who wants to pay for this Phillyist to fly to France so he can see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull early at Cannes?
- Barack Obama has admitted that if a film based on his life were ever made, he'd want Will Smith to play him. Good choice, Obama!
- Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody used to be an exotic dancer, so it's not particularly surprising that nude pictures of her have now surfaced on the internet (NSFW, obviously). (Via)
- Both The Movie Blog and SpoutBlog (via) are offering their tips on how the Oscars can be improved. One suggestion is the Gary Busey Red Carpet. If you don't know why that would be funny, watch this.
