The Sixers spanked the Knicks (124-84) on Wednesday night at the Wach. Tonight they will be in Orlando, then they’ll turn around and host the Magic on Wednesday at 7PM (get tickets or watch here). Here’s hoping that’ll be two for two. Tomorrow they’ll match up with the Miami Heat, against whom they are 2-0 this season.
Flyers aren’t doing too good: their loss to the San Jose Sharks (3-1) last night at home was their ninth loss in a row. They host the Florida Panthers on Sunday at the Wach at 7PM (get tickets or watch here); keep your blades crossed.
The Phantoms have a chocolatey weekend, facing the Hershey Bears tonight at the Spectrum at 7PM (get tickets or watch/listen here) and at Hershey tomorrow.
It’s Kixx Dollar Dogs night tomorrow at the Spectrum as the boys take on the California Cougars at 7PM (get tickets). Considering we’ve been known to go to sporting events solely for some hot dogs, we think this is a good marketing gimmick.
The unbeaten Wings take on the only team ahead of them (how can you be ahead by half a game?) when they host the Minnesota Swarm tonight at the Wach (get tickets). They’re asking fans to wear red to the game in honor of their new red alternate jerseys. Snazzy.
In other news, the Soul is gearing up for their opening next Saturday against the Orlando Predators with talk of a championship already at the forefront. Andy Reid says the Eagles need to work on defense (and here we thought they had to work on not choking; oh, and some help for Westbrook might be nice while we’re making our wish list). It seems we are indeed getting a professional soccer stadium and team, though some folks still don’t seem convinced it’s a good idea. Oh, and Ryan Howard got a huge raise; we’re counting on him to earn it.
