- In case you were waiting for the official word, yes, the WGA strike is really officially over now, and everyone is expected to go back to work immediately. Our long national nightmare is over.
- Even though Microsoft recently spent $240 million to buy a 1.6% stake in Facebook, Bill Gates recently decided to stop using the site because he was tired of dealing with the 8,000 friend requests he was getting every day. If he ever wants to actually delete his account, though, he might want to read this New York Times article about how it's nearly impossible to do that (via Jill).
- Will Wright's long-awaited universe-building game Spore finally has an official release date: September 7th. PC, Mac, Nintendo DS, and mobile phone versions of the game will come out simultaneously on that date, and word is that a creature-editor-only edition will be available even sooner. Joystiq has their first impressions of the mobile, home computer, and DS versions of the game. Finally, you can find a new trailer for the game on the official website.

- Apparently James Cameron still has a little bit of power over the Terminator franchise after all. Cameron just directed Sam Worthington in his film Avatar and recommended the actor to McG, who has now cast Worthington to star in his upcoming directorial effort, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
- They're making BioShock into a cell phone game? That better be some phone... Meanwhile, in similar news, BioWare and EA have announced that their controversial and critically acclaimed sci-fi RPG, Mass Effect, will be coming to PCs this May.
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl has sold 1.08 million units in Japan in the 11 days since it was released, making it the fastest-selling Wii game in Japan.
