Valentine Gifts for the Kitchen and the Hungry

jha-vday.jpgGirls have always known that the way to a guy's heart is through his stomach, and as more and more guys become interested in migrating off the couch and into the kitchen, we thought it would be fun to share some thoughtful Valentine's Day gift ideas as they pertain to all things cookery or at least set a romantic mood.

Yes, chocolate for V-Day can be cliché, but local Philaldelphia chocolatiers John and Kira create delicious chocolates and also help encourage community activism by incorporating fresh, local ingredients into their products to support neighborhoods. The "Bee My Lovebug" Tower ($34.00) is just one of the adorable and tasty treats available on their site.

For those who love design as much as their partners, Joanne Hudson is offering a variety of heart mugs ($19.99 - $112.99), red and white tea towels ($7.99), Rosle barware ($15.99-149.99 and flameless candles – no fear of burning the joint down by falling asleep with the candles still flickering! ($44.99-$78.99)

Of course one can always find something fabulous at Williiams Sonoma to give the one you love. From heart silicone cupcake molds ($14.95) to decadent Parisian Macaroons ($49.50), or even a red KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer – for someone who has been REALLY deserving ($299.95)

Personally I think you can never go wrong with chocolate. But then perhaps that's not surprising coming from an addict.

But if you only tried this chocolate... :)

Seriously though, I'm getting a custom box of chocolate from Chatham's Fine Chocolates this year. I picked the exact truffles I wanted from their selection of something like 300 artisan truffles!

Can't recommend them enough (long time fan).
