Foodsday Tuesday: Spoon Feeding

To all who believe in the SpoonThere's a new restaurant reviewing website in town, and we think it's pretty neat.

Urbanspoon works as a local restaurant review aggregator, finding reviews of eating establishments city-wide and combining them with user rankings to come up with an overall score, a la Rotten Tomatoes.

Urbanspoon will also tell you its current top restaurants in the city, give you reviews by cuisine, neighborhood, or price, and even features a few "specialty" categories (vegan, gluten-free, delivery, etc). Plus, unlike Rotten Tomatoes, Urbanspoon actually values what bloggers have to say, because: "We think that blog reviews are just as interesting as reviews from the local newspaper. " All you have to do is place a small "spoonback" on your blog post (we added one to our column about James, as an example) and Urbanspoon will know, through the magic of the internets, that they've been linked to. After a few days, they'll show you the same courtesy.

To paraphrase Huey Lewis, that's the power of blog.
