- Former Midway employee Patrick Goschy says he will "sue Nintendo for patent infringement, claiming that he created the idea of a motion controlled system very similar to the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo currently in use in Nintendo's Wii." - Director and screenwriter Roger Avary has been arrested on charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence. He was in a single-car accident this weekend that injured his wife and killed a visiting friend.
- The latest on Justice League of America is that all seven superheroes have been cast, and that Warner Bros. has until today to "either green-light the movie for a spring production start for a summer 2009 release or push it until after the strike is resolved." Which means by the time this post is published, or soon after, an announcement might have been made about the future of the movie.
- The US release date of Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been pushed back to March 9th. Why, God, why?!

- A list of movies sorted by the number of times the word "fuck" is used in said movie. We've seen these lists before, but they're always fun. Also, we hadn't heard that a couple of other movies had knocked Casino down from the top spot. Scorsese's going to have to try harder next time.
- The Lost fans out there who can no longer remember what the heck was going on last season will be happy to learn that recaps of the season finale and of the entire series are now available for free downloading at the iTunes Music Store.

- A professor at the University of Brighton has banned the likes of Wikipedia and Google from her classroom, pointing out that, "Too many students don't use their own brains enough. We need to bring back the important values of research and analysis." She's got a point, but... Google and Wikipedia are our brains now! Don't ask us to detach from the hive mind! It's cold and lonely in cyberspace...
- Yesterday afternoon it came out that MySpace had made an agreement with 49 states "to implement structural changes as well as independent monitoring in the hope of blocking sexual predators from preying upon its innocent user base." Editor Jill's home state of Texas is the only one to not take part in the joint statement; Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott says what MySpace has planned is inadequate.
- The rumor is that "Keri Russell will voice Wonder Woman in an upcoming animated straight-to-DVD movie."
- Charlize Theron has signed on for a small role as the wife of Viggo Mortensen's character in a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's post-apocalyptic novel The Road. "The book centers on a man who embarks on a nightmarish road trip after a nuclear explosion in an attempt to transport his son to safety while fending off cannibals." Sounds like our kind of thing.
- Star Trek Online has not been cancelled, but production of the game is bound to be held up a little, as the game developers, P2, have ceased work on the title for as yet unknown reasons, and the IP and game content have been transferred to another developer.

- Rumor: a standalone sequel to Guitar Hero is in the works based around the music of U2. It seems like to us that playing the music of only one band would get boring after a while, but we guess that's what real bands do all the time.
