
- "Gov. Rendell has signed a death warrant for a New Jersey man convicted of fatally stabbing two sisters and a toddler in King of Prussia in 2005." The man is scheduled to die by lethal injection on March 6th. Keep in mind, however, that Rendell has signed 76 death warrants since taking office in 2003, and not one has been carried out.
- "Two reputed mob associates pleaded guilty yesterday to running a gambling ring in South Jersey and Philadelphia."
- If you hadn't heard, the Montgomery County commissioners aren't getting along very well. Their first regular meeting yesterday included one accusing another of "intemperance, badgering and childishness" - and they're both Republicans!
- Testimony at John Lewis' hearing yesterday filled in more of the accused's increasingly violent history leading up to the killing of Officer Chuck Cassidy on October 31st.
- A "wild, rolling, midday shootout with police" went down in Chester yesterday, and it ended with three young men injured and another in custody. All four were apparently involved in the shoot-out and were not innocent bystanders. No officers were injured. The Daily News article on the incident paints a rather troubling portrait of Chester.
- Today beginning at 3PM at 4702 Chestnut St. a mural focused on race relations in Philadelphia is scheduled to be dedicated. "Among the participants will be officials of the Urban League of Philadelphia, the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, and community and business leaders."
