
- Pennsylvania ranks very low amongst other states in requiring breakfast to be served in its schools to the children of low income families.
- A new memorial design for the President's House, which "would allow visitors to peer down through a glass shed and view archaeological remnants of an 18th-century house once occupied by presidents and slaves," will be unveiled tomorrow night at Freedom Theatre.
- "The DRPA, whose board meets today to adopt its annual budget, has a higher debt burden, compared with its income, than any toll-collecting agency in the region.... And the DRPA is preparing to borrow hundreds of millions more next year to pay for bridge repairs and PATCO commuter rail-car upgrades. That is likely to mean higher tolls for those who cross the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Betsy Ross and Commodore Barry Bridges."
- 2007 was supposed to be the "Year of Reform" for Pennsylvania, but "lawmakers are poised to leave Harrisburg this week without having passed even the one government reform bill they believed could be sent to Gov. Rendell before Christmas: the expanded open-records law."
- Drexel's first public response to the Kirsch & Anderton/Bonnie & Clyde case came yesterday when they sent a memo to the school community saying everybody should be careful to not get their identity stolen. Gee... thanks.
- We had no idea that other cities actually audition their street performers. And now apparently some people think it's time to establish some kind of regulations on the quality of performers in Philadelphia, as well.
- Mayor-elect Nutter endorsed Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate for President last night at a rally at the Electric Factory. Bill Clinton was there, as were about 1,000 other people.
