The shapeless dough of the internet, formed into tasty pellets and baked to perfection, just for you.

- Amuse yourself at work this afternoon by reading the weirdest work stories of the year, and definitely let us know if you have a story you think belongs on the list. Maybe we could do a top ten weird Philly work stories? (Via Jill)
- We usually try to avoid linking to our -ist compatriots here at the Whiz, because... well, it's kind of like kissing your sister. But we just couldn't resist posting LAist's wonderful photo essay of Trekkies rallying to support the WGA strike.
- There's a pretty sweet Indy 4 poster over on AICN (via), and some exciting plot details for the movie over on Sci Fi Wire, courtesy USA Today.
- Besides being saddened by it for the obvious reasons, some were afraid that the death of Robert Jordan would mean that his Wheel of Time series would remain unfinished, but fantasy author Brandon Sanderson has been selected to complete A Memory of Light, the final volume in the saga. When that finally comes out, we may just have to start all the way back at book one and work our way through the whole damn thing.
- Nicolas Cage is set to star in a new film by Alex Proyas called Knowing, about a teacher (Cage) who unearths a time capsule and discovers that it contains predictions that have already started to come true, as well as one which suggests that the world will end at the close of the week, and Cage's character is somehow involved.
- Tim Burton said in a recent interview that his film adaptation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland will "stay true to the stories' essence." Uh huh. Yeah. You know what that means? That means he's going to fuck that shit up for real.
- Rather unsettling news about online play in Smash Bros. Brawl: you won't be able to chat at all with other players, and if they drop offline for any reason, they'll be seamlessly replaced with computer opponents. So, really there will be no way to know that they're ever not computers. In fact... are you a replicant right now?!
- Just like us, TIME has caught the end of year list bug. Their nerd master has two up: Top 10 Graphic Novels, and Top 10 Video Games (via), but there are plenty of other interesting ones; just check out their A&E section. Cinematical is pitching in, too, with their 25 Hottest of 2007.
- Apparently advertisers are beaming audio directly into our skulls now. We're living in the future, people! The horrifying, dystopian future of our worst nightmares, but the future all the same.
- Heh. The Movie Blog has an amusing list of movies that perhaps should be considered sci-fi, even though they usually are not included in that genre.
- Gerard Butler might play Sabretooth in Wolverine.
- MTV Multiplayer has an interesting interview with X-Play host Morgan Webb about being a woman in the gaming world and topics of that sort. There are surprisingly few pictures of her in hot outfits, too, which is both encouraging and disappointing at the same time. (Via)
- The YouTube Partner Program is now opening to anyone within North America! That means if you meet certain requirements, and they approve your application, you could get paid cash money for your video content.
- Fark apparently wants to trademark "NSFW." Uh, yeah. Good luck with that!
- Drawn found a free application for Windows or Mac computers that lets you play with LEGO bricks on your computer. It's the LEGO Digital Designer. Cool!
- Cinematical has a couple new pics from Dark Knight. They also report that a Batmobile built to promote Batman Forever, which cost around $2,800,000 to make and is worth around $800,000, sold recently at auction for only $297,000. The relatively low sale price might have had to do with a rather irritating condition attached to the vehicle by Warner Bros. saying that, "The Batmobile may be driven solely when necessary for maintenance purposes and may never be driven while in public view." Dude, what's the point of a Batmobile if you can't drive around and pick up chicks in it?
- Here's a fun photo essay pointing out a bunch of great Easter Eggs in the various Pixar films. (Via)
- We've got some bad news for you. First of all, there's apparently going to be a Bio-Dome 2. And second of all, it's apparently going to star Stephen "born-again" Baldwin. Usually the question "Why the hell are they making that movie?!" can be answered simply by saying, "Because they think they'll make a lot of money." But can anyone seriously believe that Bio-Dome 2 will make any money at all?
- Cinematical has a couple of quasi-stories for us: pictures of what may be Chris Pine as Captain Kirk have made it online, and that weird Slusho ad we posted a link to may not have anything to do with Cloverfield after all.

RE: Morgan Webb's interview:
I don't get why women feel video games should exaggerate their outfits and bodies less when the games in question do the exact same thing with the male characters.
My post reacting to Webb's interview can be found here, comments welcome: http://xstevemurphy.tumblr.com/post/21316483
