Phillyist Parties: The Meaning of Life... +5

meaningoflife.jpg

Remember last month, when some math whiz at Carnegie Mellon decided that Phillyist was the 47th-most important blog... in the universe?

Well, the staff of Phillyist got to thinking that we had you to thank for that, so we wanted to buy you all a drink.

And then, we got to thinking that 47 is only five away from the meaning of life, and we decided that not only did we want to buy you a drink, we wanted to throw you a party – because that's pretty friggin' awesome.

And so we hope you'll join us on November 29 (the Thursday after Thanksgiving, or two weeks from today) at St. Stephen's Green on 17th and Green Streets for a few drinks. Several Phillyist staffers will be there, and you'll get to match faces with posts and see which authors you recognize from the Phillyist staff page. (Does Editor Jim really resemble Jesus? What does Matt Johnson look like when he's not in profile? Does Ross really sip his vodka tonics through a straw? And what the hell does Bill Hayes look like, anyway?)

Sure, we know that everyone else will be having holiday parties this time of year, but we wanted to be different. So leave your mistletoe at home, but don't be afraid to sport your favorite Douglas Adams-inspired tee. We'll get it.

Thanks for everything, readers. Now, let's have a few beers.
