A steaming hot pile of our favorite things from around the internets.

- Blender has annoyed us with their lists before, but we can't help but post something that claims to be The 100 Greatest Rock & Roll Movies of All Time. And we do like a lot of their picks in the top ten (even if they did include the horrendously bad, incredibly overrated Purple Rain).
- Could DC be planning to kill off Bruce Wayne/Batman?? We wouldn't put it past them. But considering the fact that DC rewrites their entire multiverse every year or so, it probably won't have any lasting effect. (Via)
- Now here's a headline for you: "Hide your old pills in poop, government says." (Via Sarah)
- Apparently in honor of this weekend's release of No Country for Old Men, TIME has a cool little slideshow/list celebrating The 10 Best Coen Brothers Moments. (Via Sarah)
- Sony is furiously denying the claim we posted about yesterday, that their 40GB PS3s have a 40% failure rate. They say their failure rate is "very low." So, what are we talking about here - 30%?
- Love your iPod, but hate iTunes? Download Squad has a list of alternatives for you!
- The Wii will eventually get DVD playback... just not this year.
- Check out this video in which a guy shows you how he combined a Star Trek classic phaser toy and the Blu-ray laser from a PS3 to make a Blu-ray Laser Phaser. It's the first good use of a PS3 Blu-ray that we've ever seen!
- Everybody knows meetings are a complete waste of time and money, but now the handy web app Meeting Miser can show you just how much money is going down the tubes while you sit there twiddling your thumbs as some dumbass spouts meaningless corporate jargon at you. (We particularly like the fact that the screenshot Download Squad has chosen displays Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the location.)
- The Harvey Birdman game has a new release date, and that date is January 8th, 2008.
- Take Two has settled in the "Hot Coffee" suit. Which means if you have a copy of the Hot Coffee version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (meaning, a version of the game purchased before July 20, 2005), you can get either a Hot Coffee-free copy of the game or a refund of up to $35, as long as you have "detailed proofs of purchase." The funny bit is Take Two does not admit wrongdoing, and even think the courts would have cleared them had they gone through the whole process, but settling for $2.75 million is cheaper and quicker.
- Game|Life has the track list for the first batch of downloadable content that will be made available this month for Rock Band. Meanwhile, Joystiq has a similar list of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero III.
- Roman Polanski's next film will be an adaptation of Robert Harris' new novel The Ghost, a political thriller.
- Guillermo del Toro sure seems busy these days. Now Variety is reporting that he'll be writing, directing, and producing a film adaptation of the '60s spy series The Champions. It's about a group of secret government agents whose plane crashes in the Himalayas where they're rescued by a secret civilization who give them superhuman powers like "ESP, precognition, and enhanced physical abilities," and then send them out to be "Champions of law, order, and justice." Sounds awesome!
- Oh, no! Rob Zombie's going to direct a remake of the horrible '80s B-movie, C.H.U.D. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
- Yesterday we linked you to a featurette about Valkyrie, but now we have the first official trailer. (Via)
