Stars in Our Eyes

stars.jpgEver been in one of those moods where every song sounds like a love song? That's the mood we're in and we're lucky because tonight Stars are playing at the Troc. And with Stars, every song is a love song, or at least a contemplation of love, be it the joyous happy side or the jealous underbelly. Touring in support of their latest release, In Our Bedroom After the War, the Canadians have taken their thoughtful pop sounds into a realm that could only be described as epic.

There's a story behind this album. In July, four days after the mixing was finished, the band was faced with sticking to its September release date and dealing with the inevitable leak that would take place. Instead, they said, how about no. And released it digitally via their label, Arts & Crafts. So fans had the album mere days after it was complete, and were able to get their hands on a hard copy last month.

Tonight's show holds much promise. We saw them last time they were in town. Took our friend's word and bought a ticket, having never heard one note of their music. Left the show a fan.
